Our Work
Project EQUIP is dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of millions of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our iniatives empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them secure successful jobs, live independently, form meaningful friendships with their peers, improve public speaking, self-advocacy, and communication skills, and feel valued by society.

01
Integrated Employment
This program secures jobs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), allowing them to earn an income, pay taxes, and continuously and independently support themselves.
02
Inclusive Living
Our program fosters an integrated experience for people with and without IDD to become active, contributing citizens who live independently in a dynamic environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

03
Self Advocacy
Our work includes conducting training and leadership seminars for self-advocates and group advisors across the state, supporting more than self-advocacy groups across the state, facilitating fundraising and public outreach initiatives, conducting presentations to community groups, schools, and conference audiences, and educating state legislators regarding issues of importance to people with disabilities.
04
Friendships
These programs build one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), offering social interactions while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Through their participation, people with IDD form meaningful connections with their peers, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, and share interests, experiences and activities that many other individuals enjoy.
